July 10, 1931 — July 13, 2016

Pat Hopper obituary and service info Patricia Ann ‘Pat' Hopper passed from this life on July 13, 2016 at home with family in Langley, Oklahoma, at the age of 87. Pat was born in Independence, Kansas on July 10, 1929, the only child of Laurel Ray ‘Hi' Heiser and May (Edwards) Heiser. Recently retired from serving as a tour guide at the Pensacola Dam and power plant, Pat also held many other jobs. In Tulsa, she sold tickets through Carson Attractions. Pat also taught swimming and lifeguarding classes. While Pat had visited the lake continuously through most of her life, she moved here to take care of her dad. Following his passing, she owned and operated Hi's Bait Shop in Langley. The building was later transformed into The Hodge Podge - a gift and antique shop. For a time, Pat operated a Go-Kart Track located behind the property. She was a Head Start teacher in Langley as well. Pat was a member of a couple of bridge groups, and stayed very active with these ladies and others. The community was very important to Pat. She worked hard to help make Langley and surrounding areas a great place to raise a family or retire. Serving as a City Councilwoman, Pat helped Langley grow. She was instrumental in working with others to establish the South Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce. She volunteered at the library, and served on an ad-hoc committee of women that got a grant for the walking trail in Village Park. Information gathered in writing the application became useful in opening up more of the area below the dam to rock crawler vehicles. One of Pat's greatest passions was Ketchum athletics. Even in declining health, she seldom missed a football or basketball game and supported each of the athletic teams, while encouraging a quality education for all students. Pat was one of only two individuals to have been gifted a lifetime pass to all events. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Danny Leffingwell and Kenneth Hopper, and a son Jerry Hopper. Pat is survived by her sons Mike Leffingwell of Disney; and Tom Hopper and wife Regina of Langley, and daughter-in-law Kae Hopper of Afton. Grandchildren are Leah Fran Leffingwell, Tommy Hopper, Josh Hopper, Christie Hopper, Megan Berga, and Aiden Hopper. Great grandchildren include Elizabeth, Hannah, Jake, Cole, Gabby, Jayden, Jayce, and Mazie; and one great great grandchild Chloe. Pat was a member of the Catholic faith. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, July 21, at the First Christian Church of Langley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's name to the Langley Library or to PAAS (Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter) of Vinita.
