Patricia Wood

Patricia Stewart Wood passed away at Silver Lake Care Center on November 18, 2008. Patricia was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on December 4, 1921 to Harold and Kathryn Stewart. She attended Tulsa Central High and the University of Arkansas where she was president of her sorority, Chi Omega. Pat married James (Jim) Q. Wood and moved to Bartlesville in 1972. They had 36 happy years together. She was active in PEO and belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and the Hillcrest Country Club. She was a past president of the CH chapter of PEO in Bartlesville. She was also a past president of PEO chapter in Searcy Arkansas. Pat is survived by her husband James (Jim) Q. Wood of Bartlesville, her son Dr. Tom and his wife Linda Headlee of Tucson, Arizona; one step daughter Nancy and her husband Paul Hamilton of Belfast, Maine, one daughter in law Marty Headlee of Searcy, Arkansas, four grandsons Mike and his wife Christi Headlee of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mark and his wife Jacqueline Headlee of Littlerock, Stewart Headlee of Little Rock, and Andrew and his wife Anne Slugg of Sudbury, Massachusetts. Pat's loving and generous spirit will be missed by all of her near and extended family, including her great granddaughters, nieces, and nephews. Pat and her husband, Jim, loved to travel. They traveled extensively in Europe, with London being Pat's favorite city, and Copenhagen a close second. Asian countries they visited included China, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The Great Wall of China was easily her favorite site. Pat had to put up with her husband's insisting, they attended the Berkshire Hathaway's Annual Shareholders meetings in Omaha, Nebraska almost every year or so it seemed. However, Pat did enjoy exchanging greeting with Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha after the meetings. She also enjoyed shopping at Borsheims which make the trips to Omaha more palatable. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Kathryn Stewart of Tulsa, her sister Nancy Davis of Tulsa, her brother Major Harold Stewart of St. Louis, and her son John Headlee of Searcy, Arkansas. Her Funeral service will be held on November 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church located at 501 S. Dewey in Bartlesville, OK 74003. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made the First Presbyterian Church or the Salvation Army located at 101 N. Bucy Ave., Bartlesville, OK 74003. Visitation will be held at the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home on Friday November 21, 2008 from 8 am until 5 pm, Saturday from 9 am until 9 pm, and Sunday 9 am until 9 pm.
