Paul Carrol Meyer, former Lenapah, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born October 6, 1941, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and was the son of Robert H. Meyer I and Lillian (Fritz) Meyer. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School and continued his education at Hillsdale Bible College, and graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. On December 16, 1961 he married the love of his life Virginia Haskit, in Tulsa. He served as a pastor of several Freewill Baptist Churches before retiring from the Nowata Freewill Baptist Church. Paul served his country serving in the United States Navy with three tours of duty in Viet Nam. He enjoyed restoring and collecting old cars and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed life and was very proud of his wife and family. Paul is survived by his wife, Virginia Meyer of the home; three children, Paula Denise Johnson and husband Matthew of Broken Arrow, Angela Carol Davis and husband Damon Davis I of Howell, OK; Avery Scott Meyer and wife Fa of Fresno, CA; two siblings, Loletta Purdy and husband Leo of Tulsa, Robert Henry Meyer, JR. and his wife Da of Tulsa; six grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Hayes Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Douglas Paul Meyer, Virginia Meyer, Aran Haskit Meyer; two great grandchildren, Leyah Meyer, Bentley Paul Meyer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Meyer. Funeral services for Paul are 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ray Witty and Pastor Everett Peace officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
