Pauline Selvey

Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata, Oklahoma (918) 273-2700*** Pauline Ruth (Gibson) Selvey died in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center, Nowata, Oklahoma. Pauline was born February 4, 1939, Kansas City, Kansas to Walter B. and Ruth Jewell Kyle Honeywell. She was educated in the Bonner Springs, Kansas schools. She was married to Dr. Gary Wayne Gibson on August 31, 1957 in Bonner Springs; he preceded her in death. She married Duane Selvey on March 14, 2011 in Miami, Oklahoma. Mrs. Selvey was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nowata and had visited Israel twice. She was also a member of Sunrise Chapter No. 22, Order of the Eastern Star; Sunshine Court No. 26, Order of the Amaranth; and Bethel Shrine No. 3, Tulsa, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Mrs. Selvey was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom and loved being both. She also had worked as a receptionist at the offices of her husband, a Nowata chiropractor, and her son, Jeff Gibson, DO. In addition to her husband Duane of the home, she is survived by three sons and their families: Kenneth Gibson and wife Helen of Tulsa; Judge Carl Gibson and wife Deana of Nowata; and Dr. Jeffrey Gibson and wife Angie of Talala. She is survived by grandchildren Meghan, Garrett and Rachel Gibson, all of Nowata; Jacqueline of Tulsa, Chase and Brett, of Talala; and two step-grandchildren, Josh Jordan and Madison Huhn. A brother, Carl Honeywell of Kansas City, Missouri, also survives. In addition to her first husband, Dr. Gary Gibson, Mrs. Selvey was predeceased by two infant sons, Bradley and Bryan, as well a sister, Mildred Dennis, and a brother, Harold Honeywell, and her parents. She had raised a niece Patricia (Patty) Dennis Frank who died in 1999.
