Peggy Jones

Peggy Ann (Harris) Jones passed away on November 5, 2019 at Woodland Shores Community in Afton, Oklahoma. She was born November 25, 1948 in Emporia, Kansas; the daughter of Donald Harris and Mary (Crouse) Harris. Peggy attended high school at Shawnee Mission North in Kansas. She married the love of her life Donald Lee Jones on July 03, 1965. Together they had a hobby farm where they raised pigs and chickens. Peggy enjoyed life on the farm with her family and often reminisced about humorous stories during this time. Peggy did numerous jobs over the years including being a hairdresser and later attended school as an adult for medical assistant because she loved helping people. She worked hard and supported Don in his job and together they raised three children. As their children grew and had children of their own; she adored spending time with her grandchildren. She and Donald moved to Woodland Shores on Grand Lake in 2016 after their retirement where they enjoyed learning to boat. Peggy was known for her energetic, fun-loving spirit and the giant hugs she gave to everyone. She enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting her family and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rhonda Sue Jones Studdard and her grandson Jered William Lee Corbin.

Survivors include husband, Donald Lee Jones of Woodland Shores; sons, Paul and  Barbara Jones of Billings, Missouri, Tim and Faith Jones of Dalton, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild with two more on the way; brother Larry and Barbara Harris of Wellsville, Kansas and a sister Leesa and Pat Sands of Garnett, Kansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Sunday November 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Otte officiating.
