It is with heavy hearts that we, as a family, announce the passing of Rita Ann Robinson; beloved wife, mother, Gran/Nana. She passed away very peacefully at age 78 from a sudden illness at Washington Regional Medical Center, in the presence of her son and daughter, Jim and Michelle Robinson.
Our mother was born November 10th, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Salvation Army Church and her faith in the Lord remained with her until her passing to be with Him. She was the oldest of 7 children and also had many nieces and nephews (and their children) who loved their “Aunt Rita” and will miss her dearly.
Our mother worked for over 30 combined years at Grove General Hospital in both housekeeping and as a Dietary Aide. She enjoyed prepping food trays for the patients, and serving food to visitors and employees in the cafeteria. She served love and joy to all those who encountered her.
After her retirement, mom enjoyed taking care of her many house plants. She also loved solving book after book of word search puzzles and watching game shows from the comfort of her recliner. However, more than any household hobby, she found the most love and enjoyment when her kids and grandbabies came to visit her! Her grandbabies were never too big to sit on her lap, even if they were grown.
Our mother is survived by her two children: son – Jimmy Robinson Jr. and daughter – Michelle Robinson, her 5 grand-daughters: KayLee Robinson, Donna Stone, Kimberlee Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Courtney Stephens and her 4 great-grandchildren: Karlee Fleming, Cameron Matheny, Kaegen Allingham and Jemetris Smith Jr.
Our mother also shared her love with our siblings from our Dad’s first marriage. She loved them all, and their children; liker her own kids and grandkids. We have many fond memories of her and our Dad uniting us as a family.
Mom is also survived by her siblings: brothers: Timothy Jackson and wife Suzanne, Phillip Jackson and wife Nancy; sisters: Anita Jackson and Dana Tillery.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Maxine (Spriggs) Jackson, her beloved husband of over 40 years, Jimmy Robinson Sr., two brothers: David and Daniel Jackson, brother-in-law Joe Tillery, and daughter-in-law Jana Robinson.
In lieu of any memorial service, per our mothers wishes, she asked that all of her loved ones, children and grandbabies just remember her from the last time you saw her alive and well…full of joy and love.
"A Mothers's love is always with her children. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us. May that love surround us now and bring us peace."
