Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555.......Royce Truman Martin went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was known as "Uncle T", "True Blue", or "Truman" by his family. Truman was a jokester, but most of all a loving, caring brother and uncle. He was also known to flirt with the ladies every chance he got. His favorite thing to do on his birthday was for his nieces and nephews to take him to the club. Every time he came home and was able, he would attend church at Serenity Missionary Baptist Church, Sunrise Baptist to him. He would tease about singing "Precious Lord", saying maybe next time.
Truman was born November 29, 1945 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Wilbur and Frances Martin. He attended Attucks school and graduated from Vinita Public Schools. He moved to Detroit, Michigan and joined the Army in 1968. He received an honorable discharge in 1970. During his time in the Army he became a sharpshooter, wireman and wireman maintenance worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Eugene Martin, Eddie Martin; sister Edith Hicks; and two great nieces.
Truman is survived by his siblings, Wilbur J. (Michele) Martin of San Diego, CA, Wade (Portia) Martin of Paradise City, CA, Ronnie Martin, Arlene Kirkendoll and husband Charles, Tillie Trent, Dollie Tyler and husband Roger all of Vinita, Jessie Martin of Tulsa, OK; many nieces, nephews and other family members. Truman will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, OK.
