Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Ruth Eileen (Wood) Swalley, 89, of Delaware, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville. She was born May 7, 1927 in Delaware to Edd and Florence (Ballew) Wood. Ruth graduated from Delaware High School. On December 7, 1946 she married Marvin Leroy Swalley in Independence, Kansas. She worked as a nurse's aide at Osage Nursing Home for several years. Ruth enjoyed gardening and being a homemaker. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. All of her family held a special place in her heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by eight children, Ronald Leroy Swalley and wife Paula of Delaware, Mary Elieen Corle and husband Bill of Delaware, Teresa Diane Lyle and husband Eddie of Texas, Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Swalley of Delaware, Larry Joe Swalley and wife Sherry of Delaware, Lynette Malone of Delaware, Kathy Elise Lewis and husband Art of Delaware, Steven Ray Swalley of Texas, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by four grandchildren and four siblings, Ocie Worthington, Clifford Wood, Joe Lee Wood, Mary Keeler.
