Sandra Hayes

Sandra Colette Hayes, 76 year-old Vinita resident, passed away Tuesday evening, October 4, 2011 at Rosewood Terrace. She was born April 1, 1935 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Noble and Cenia (Anderson) Merritt. Sandra was retired from Home of Hope as a House Manager and CNA. She was a member of the Craig County Baptist Church. Sandra enjoyed doing Genealogy, Ceramics and Sewing. Christmas was a very special time for her, preparing months in advance to make it most enjoyable for the family. The family includes: her children, Eddie Jones of Vinita, Johnny Hayes and wife Amie of Disney, Larry Hayes of White Oak, Terry Hayes of Vinita, Glen Hayes and wife Sharon of Bunch, Susan Bowie and husband Larry of Highland Village, Texas; daughter-in-law Angie Hayes of White Oak; life long friend Kenny Reddick, family friend Paul Skiba of Stillwater; step-sister, Virginia; twenty six grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death; were her parents V.T. and Cenia Wallace, and a daughter in-law, Janet Hayes (late wife of Terry). The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening, October 6, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery northwest of Vinita. Casket bearers will be: Lance Jones, Ryan Bowie, Reid Bowie, Ross Hayes, Melissa Tracy and Dustin Hayes. Honorary bearers will be: Austin Hayes, Jacob Hayes, John Hayes and Dylan Hayes. Friends may give to the Craig County Outreach Cancer Association (Breast Cancer), P.O. Box 407, Vinita, OK 74301.
