Sharon Busch

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Sharon Maud (Coffey) Busch, age 79, passed from this life on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at her home in Ketchum, Oklahoma. Sharon was born January 25, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Orville and Jennie Doris (Haslam) Coffey. At the beginning of WWII, her family, including her grandmother, Maud Haslam, and younger sister, Phyllis, moved to California, where her parents worked in the shipyards. Following the war, the family returned to Tulsa. Sharon attended Pleasant Porter Elementary School, Clinton Junior High, and Daniel Webster High School. After graduating from Webster, Sharon went to work as a switchboard operator. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone, T. J. Bettis Real Estate, and Ohio Oil Company. Sharon was married to Bill Busch on May 6, 1955. Sharon and Bill had two children, William Carl and Bonnie Suzanne. The family lived in Tulsa, then moved to Catoosa, where they stayed for 12 years. They returned to Tulsa in 1973, when Bill became Music, Youth, and Education Minister at Olivet Baptist Church. Sharon went to work on the switchboard at St. Francis Hospital in 1971 and worked there until the family moved to Nowata, Oklahoma in 1977, where Bill served in Ministry at the First Baptist Church. In 1985 Sharon and Bill moved to Grand Lake, when Bill became pastor at First Baptist Church of Ketchum, Oklahoma. Sharon went to work at Eastern State Hospital, where she served for 21 years as a Law Enforcement Communications Specialist. Bill retired in 1999, and he and Sharon built a home on Grand Lake, where she lived until her passing. Sharon was a member of Kelso Faith Baptist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School, something she had done at different churches for 60 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Sharon was also a swim instructor for the Red Cross when she was younger. Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; her sister Phyllis Brown and husband, Charlie, of Tulsa; son Will Busch and wife Jackie of Sand Springs; and daughter Bonnie Pruett and husband Roland, of Nowata. Sharon has eleven grandchildren: Walter Busch, Gretchen Meade, Audra Hopper, Kelly Pruett, Amy Sells, Jason Pruett, Paul Goodloe, Nathan Pruett, Carl Goodloe, Scott Pruett, and Suzanne Pruett. Sharon has seven great-grandchildren: Olivia Sells, Ayden Meade, Emmett Sells, Max Busch, Rhys Hibbs, Caroline Busch, and Kinley Pruett. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Jennie Coffey; and her brother, Jamie Coffey. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Haskins officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
