Sheldon Leslie Enlow, Jr.

Sheldon Leslie Enlow, Jr., 80 year old Jay resident, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Sheldon was born in Joplin, MO on December 5, 1942, to Sheldon and Roberta (Dardenne) Enlow. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Allen on February 6, 1964, and together they raised 5 children. Jr. was a man of many talents and interests. For employment, he worked as a truck driver, diesel mechanic, and a dispatcher for Simmons.

Throughout the years Jr’s hobbies included racing stock cars, being a drummer in a band, entertaining as a professional clown, bowling, target practice, riding his motorcycle, participating in the CB Club, and keeping up on current events with his friends at Nana’s Café. Jr was a big jokester and loved to play pranks on people. His big personality will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children: Tami Lee and husband Bob, Graling Enlow and wife Stacey, Terri Brashear and husband Andy, Robert Enlow and wife Lydia, and Tina Digby.  Brothers: Vernon Enlow,, Charles Enlow and wife Norma, sister-in-law Linda Enlow, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and his longtime friends Clarence Fletcher and Ellis Teel. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Beatrice, and brother Manford Enlow.

Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2023, from 6-8 p.m., at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Chapel of Jay. Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
