Thomas Doody

Thomas Francis Doody, born November 8, 1946 in Cortland, New York.  Tommy spent his early childhood in Tully, New York are until the family moved to Somerton, Arizona.  Tommy graduated from KOFA high school in Yuma, Arizona.  He serviced in the U.S. Army 124th Transportation Command, stationed in CAM RANH Bay, Vietnam before returning to Arizona where he worked as a mechanic both in Arizona and California.  Tommy started working as a long-haul truck driver for many years based out of Bakersfield, California. Tommy followed his follow trucker friend, Marvin DeVries to Oklahoma, and started on a new adventure, raising cattle and taking care of his land in Jay, Oklahoma.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Charles Doody (April 1991) and his mother Alice Helen Carroll Doody (August 1990).  He is survived by his daughter Deborah Doody of Utah, step-children, Dawn Howard of Bakersfield, California, Greg Howard of Bakersfield, California, Steven Howard of Mesa, Arizona, Raelyn Simpson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Shelly Knutson of Camarillo, California, grand children: Alicia Crain, Justin Crain, Alex Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren: Anthony Garcia and Aviyana Garcia,  Five brothers: James Doody (Donna) of Tully, New York, Robert Doody (Lynn) of Murrieta, California, Daniel Doody (Donna) of Fabius, New York, Walter Doody of Tully, New York and Mark Doody of Pompey, New York; four sisters: Patricia Deten (Ralph) of Flagstaff, Arizona, Charlotte Sullivan (Donald) of Ehrenberg, Arizona, Susan Jones (Stephan) and Irene Rochefort both of Maricopa, Arizona, aunts: Doris Doody (Donald) of Auburn, New York and Avis Doody of Otisco, New York, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in Arizona, California and Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Marvin's house, 32800 S. 560 Rd., Jay, Oklahoma.
