Thomas Jones

Thomas Charles "Charlie" Jones, 58, of Jay, Oklahoma died at 2:28 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Charlie was born December 27, 1950 in Delaware County, Oklahoma to Tom and Georgia Ann (Smith) Jones. He was self-employed as a mechanic. Charlie enjoyed playing horseshoes, dominos, and cards. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation and Piney Baptist Church. Survivors included his wife of 15 years, Sylvia (Runabout) Jones; one son, Dylan Jones; one brother, Rufus Jones of Jay; one sister, Ella Mae Jones of Salina; and his mother Georgia Ann Proctor. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Piney Baptist Church with Rev. John Gonzales and Rev. Stanley Grass officiating. Burial will follow in O'Field Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, William Chewey, Calvin Chewey, Chandler Wolfe, Louis Scraper, and Garland Runabout. Kendall "Ring" Little and Justin Jones will serve as honorary pallbearers.
