Tomasita Heard

Tomasita V. Heard 87, of Bartlesville passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at her home. Tomasita was born on December 29, 1921 to Tomas and Josefa (Rodriquez) Villarreal in Dewey. She received her education from Dewey Public Schools. Tomasita was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville and was very active in the Women's Missionary (WMU) as well as in her bible studies. Tomasita married Louis Samaripa on September 21, 1946 in the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville. They moved to Coffeyville for a short time before returning to Bartlesville where Tomasita worked in numerous retail stores in the downtown area. She was very family oriented and would invite her sisters to her home at least once a month to play Mexican Train and various other games. On June 30, 1990 Tomasita married Carney E. Heard in Bartlesville; together they enjoyed playing with their great grandchildren. Tomasita is survived by her husband Carney E. Heard of the home, one son Louis "Ernie" Samaripa and his wife Linda of Bartlesville, one step son Richard Heard of Joplin, Missouri, four granddaughters Amy Loughman of Shawnee, Kansas, Kelli McDowell of Broken Arrow, Angie Stuart of Pawhuska and Christina Audry of Delaware, two grandsons Justin Stuart of Okmulgee and Kevin Fink of Frisco, Texas, two great granddaughters, seven great grandsons, 7 sisters, 4 brothers and numerous other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband Louis Samaripa, her parents Tomas and Josefa Villarreal, three brothers and one sister. Honorary pallbearers include Armand Villarreal, Ray Villarreal, Oscar Villarreal and Paul Villarreal. In lieu of flowers donation's may be made to the American Cancer Society, Deb Hendricks, 3470 SE Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006 or to the American Heart Association, 2227 Skelly Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105. Funeral services for Mrs. Heard are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 28, 2009 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mrs. Heard in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
