Tommy Lee Jones, 79 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on April 14, 2020 at Integris Grove Hospital.
Tommy was born on July 19, 1940 in Fairland, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jerry N. Jones and Dorothy M. (Magaline) Jones. Tommy grew up in California and was friends and neighbors with a couple of movie stars; Audie Murphy and Tom Nix. In fact, Tom’s dad Jerry once sold Tom Nix a horse. So, naturally, Tom was a huge Old Western Movie fan, and a history buff. In Tommy’s early years, he loved to hunt and fish and was a Nurse Assistant at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma. Tommy was a very loving and forgiving person; he never met a stranger, and was always looking out for others. He was a loving husband and a great dad, Tommy’s world revolved around his grandchildren. Tommy loved coffee; he would have a cup in hand all day long.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beulah (Blevins) Jones, one sister, one brother and one grandchild, Justin Jones. He is survived by his two children; John Jones and wife Jill of Neosho, Missouri and Shari Jones-Murphree of Grove, Oklahoma, one half sister Linda in Kansas City, Missouri. Tommy was blessed with six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
