Tommy Stovall

Tommy "Tom" (Tah-cot-noh-soun-dey) Stovall, passed away at his home in Wyandotte, OK on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the age of 63. Tom was born on August 3, 1951 in Claremore, OK, the son of the late Roy Stovall and Geraldine (Bearskin) Stovall. After Tom graduated high school in Wyandotte, OK, he worked as a mechanic, broke horses, and worked for the tribe during his working life. Tom married Vicki Tambunga on June 4, 1983 in Mt. Vernon, MO. Tom was a member of the Seneca Cayuga Tribe and served as a faith keeper (pot hanger) for the south side, he he valued and lived by his native ways.. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed waterskiing in his early years and was always up for a game of shooting pool. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Jennifer Stovall; two sisters: Trudy White and Susie Nuckolls; and two brothers: James Stovall and Roy Lee Stovall. He is survived by his wife Vicki of the home; three children: Shawn Stovall and his wife Valerie of Wyandotte, Amos Easley and his wife Heather of Wyandotte, and Tashima Harris and her husband Jaremiah of Miami; 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two brothers: Leroy Howard and Mutt Howard; eight sisters: Edith Bowers, Carol Hammons, Deanna Mersman, Laurie Heffleman, Donna Francis, GeorgeAnn Stovall, Shine Carson, and Neasey Garwood; and a host of other relatives and friends. The graveside service will be held at the Bassett Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 2PM with Ceremonial Chief Charlie Diebold and Rev. Steve Johnson, presiding. Visitation will be at the family's home Monday evening through Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.
