Twylah Nicholson

Mrs. Twylah Metta Nicholson, 90 years old, died Wednesday July 29, 2009 at Medicalodge of Dewey. Twylah Metta Nicholson was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, January 11, 1919, the daughter of Henry Carr and Metta Jane "Mattie" (Lynch) Carr. She was raised and educated in the Bartlesville area. Twylah Metta Nicholson was united in marriage with Norman Doyle Nicholson on August 4. 1936 in Nowata, Oklahoma. They made there home and raised there family in the Bartlesville. Twylah and Doyle Operated Coaster Roller Rink in Bartlesville from 1962 to 1965. Doyle preceded her on December 25, 2004. Mrs. Nicholson loved her family and was a devoted Mother. She was a member of the Town and Country Church in Bartlesville and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She loved crafts and gardening. She will be dearly missed. Twylah is survived by three sons Butch Nicholson and his wife Cathy of Tulsa, Melvin Nicholson and Phyllis of Bartlesville and Dickey Nicholson and his wife Christian of Bartlesville, Ten Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Twylah is preceded in death by her husband Norman Doyle Nicholson, her parents, one son Ricky Nicholson and two daughters Marsha Radebaugh and Peggy Pruit.
