Viola Marie Nichols Obituary Viola Marie Nichols died August 4, 2007, in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born in Southwest City, Missouri, September 2, 1919 to Bennie Francis and Nora Frances ( Gann ) Provance. She was married to Herman Houck from 1937 to 1966. Viola married James R. ( Dick ) Nichols September 15, 1969. He preceded her in death October 21, 1998. She was also preceded in death by parents, Bennie and Nora Provance, brother Bennie Provance, and sister, Etta Mae Estes. Viola leaves 2 step-children, Fred Nichols ( wife, Diane ) of Layton, Utah and Nancy Rickett of Anderson, Missouri, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 brother, J.L. Provance ( wife, Julia ) of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, 2 sisters, Bertha Nichols of Southwest City, Missouri and Jean Hardage ( husband, Ronald ) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Viola was a member of the Grove Church of Christ.
