Viola Roe

Viola Jean Roe, age 90, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. She was a lifetime resident of Bartlesville, born on July 15, 1917 the daughter of Leander Benner and Ella Thompson Benner. She and Hubert L. Roe were united in Marriage December 17, 1934 in Bartlesville and made their home in Ochelata. She was a housekeeper at Jane Phillips Hospital for many years and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her raising her family and spending time with them and the grandchildren, as well as her hobbies, music, dancing, traveling, quilting. She is survived by two sons: Billy Sweem and Ron Roe both of Bartlesville, a daughter, Jennie Milburn of Tulsa, 7 grand children, Mark, Christie, Anthony Jr., Jessie, Bradley, Chad and Melissa, two great grand children, Jonathan and Steven. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Verl Sweem and Hubert Roe in 1987, a son, Stephen H. Roe in 1950 and three sisters. Memorials have been established in Mrs. Roe's name with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Oklahoma Chapter. Those who wish to make a donation may do so in care of their office, 500 N. Broadway Ave. Suite 250, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday September 10, 2007 on the family plot of the Ochelata Cemetery with her son, Rev.
