Violet Johnson

Violet M. Johnson, age 87, Grove resident, formerly of Las Vegas, died peacefully Sunday morning November 21, 2010. She will be missed by all who knew her. Violet was born on April 20, 1923 in Winnipeg, Canada to her parents, Charles C. and Nellie Elisha (Nordquist) Wood. She graduated high school from Madison High school in Madison Heights, Michigan. Violet worked as a Civil Service secretary until her retirement. Violet moved from Las Vegas in 2007 to reside here in Grove, Oklahoma. She loved to dance, listening to music, some of her favorites were Nat King Cole, Patsy Cline, Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra, with her favorite song being "My Way". She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Dorothy Van Oosten. Violet leaves many loving memories with her family, daughters, Delores (Dee) Clarkson and Jane Fornal; sons, Michael Reed and Chuck Marvin; grandchildren, Deanna Couser, Beth Herman, Guy Bomar, David Reed, Michal Reed, Raymond Reed, Charles Reed, Duane Reed and Charles Marvin, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Amanda Bomar, Kaydi Couser, Robbie Herman, Kyle Herman, Haliegh Herman, Cheyenne Bomar, Skyler Bomar, Christian Reed, Raymond Willis, Samantha Willis, Jacob Reed and Charles Reed; as well as many other loving relatives. A Memorial service will be held at a later date with interment following in the Roseland Park Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan. Cremation Arrangements are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Family and Friends may view the obituary online and send condolences at www.honoringmemories.com
