Virginia Keys

Virginia Lee Keys, age 75 and longtime Vinita resident, died Tuesday February 3, 2009 at Rosewood Terrace. She was born on January 24, 1934 to Clyde and Nettie (Wilson) Keys. In 1957 she married Jack Ornder and they raised 5 children together before his passing in 1995. Virginia was a strong and loving woman who not only enjoyed taking care of her family but also taking care of others. She volunteered at prisons and nursing homes and wherever she was needed. Among her hobbies she also loved to read, draw, write poetry, and was a great cook. Survivors include her five children Michelle Rene Elliott, Rebecca Denise Daniels, Michael Phillip Ornder, Rosa Darlene Graves, and Jack Tekeese Ornder, three sisters Jewell Strader, Jessie Lenora Branch, and Darlene Swift, 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and a daughter Linda Keys. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday February 6, 2009 at West Adair Cemetery with Pastor Wade Markham officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
