Vola Spradlin

Vola Mae "Mutt" Spradlin, 84 year old Vinita resident, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born February 25, 1924 in Bluejacket, Oklahoma to Roy and Laura Mae (Horton) Guilford. Vola attended Bluejacket Schools and on May 16, 1942 she married E. C. "Joe" Spradlin in Vinita. Joe preceded her in death on September 30, 1981. Vola was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vinita, the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed watching sports on television, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, growing tomato's, and her good neighbors. The family includes; her daughter Saundra Daugherty and husband Bill of Vinita, a son, Tom Spradlin and wife Laura of Las Vegas, Nevada, a brother Lloyd Guilford and wife Reba of Miami, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Those preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brother Vernon Guilford, sisters, Vinita Wells, and Velma Eden. The graveside funeral will be held, Thursday January 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ketchum Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Johns officiating. Casket bearers will be; Jay Daugherty, Larry Daugherty, Bill Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, Mackenzie Daugherty and Chuck Austin. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
