Wesley "Wes" Lindsay, age 55, tragically passed away while riding his Harley on October 30, 2024. Born on January 4, 1969, in Texarkana, Texas, Wes lived a life filled with adventure and passion.
Wes graduated from Claremore High School in 1987 and later served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army. He was an Army Specialist, assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, Airborne Battalion Combat Team. While he served for 11 years, he spent almost 3 of those years stationed in Italy. Wes later made a career as a cross-country truck driver, traveling the nation’s highways and experiencing the beauty of the American landscape.
Wes was known for his love of the great outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, always seeking the thrill of nature. His enthusiasm for life extended to riding his beloved Harley Davidson, which brought him immense joy and camaraderie.
He leaves behind his sister, Kim Lindsay-Jekel and her husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma. Wes also adored his niece, Jamie Jekel Benda, and her husband Riley of Edmond, Oklahoma, as well as his nephew Adam Jekel and his wife Eliza, who reside in Houston, Texas.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Janell Lindsay, who had their roots in Grove, Oklahoma. He is also preceded by his grandparents, Carl and Gertrude Lindsay of Marengo, Iowa, as well as his grandmother, Floy Mae Ellis, of Grove, Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
