Willa Lay

Willa "Billie" Lay, age 75, a resident of Vinita died Friday November 14, 2008 at Craig General Hospital. She was born December 3, 1932 in Vinita the daughter of Claude Earl Ornder and Rosie (Fair) Ornder. She was reared and received her education at Sacred Heart Academy. She and Jim Lay were married and they continued to make their home in Vinita She worked for many years as a waitress and enjoyed camping, fishing yard sales, cleaning her house loving and caring for her family and her little dog Penny. Billie leave behind a son, John Franklin Horton of Tulsa, OK, two sisters, Jerry Baker of White Oak, OK, Claudie Ann Oliver, step daughters, Janice Schafer and Karen Lay, step sons, John of Tulsa, Jeff of Sweetwater, TX and William of Bushland, TX, sisters in law, Wilma Huff of Cleveland, OK, Louise Bowie, Laverne Walker & Wanda Walker all of Vinita, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Lay on January 23, 2006, one son Larry Ray Horton, her parent's two brothers and three sisters. Graveside services will be Tuesday November 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Scott Cemetery with Pastor David Holland officiating, under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
