William “Bill” Floyd Baldwin Sr., age 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at St. John Heath System in Nowata.
Bill was born on March 20, 1957, in Big Spring, TX to Charles Smith Baldwin and Ruth Constance (White) Baldwin. He was a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for nearly 42 years before retiring in 2017. He also served as a volunteer chaplain for Rogers County Jail.
On July 9, 1982, in Warner, Oklahoma, Bill married the love of his life, Karen Menefee. The couple began their life together in Wainwright, OK, before moving to Delaware, OK, where they have resided together for the last 30 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, coaching baseball, football, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Family was very important to Bill and he cherished every moment with them and loved them very much.
Bill was an exceptional man and freely gave his time as a member of Delaware First Baptist Church, Talala First Baptist Church, and Jail Ministry. He was also a member of the men’s Bible study. Bill was a faithful follower of Christ and loved spreading God’s word to everyone and it did not matter who he was associating with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Baldwin; sisters; Cheryl Dixon and Karen Argo.
Survivors include his wife Karen Baldwin of the home, four children; Charles Baldwin and wife Erica, Bill Baldwin and wife Tara, Joshua Baldwin and girlfriend Gabrielle, and Caleb Baldwin, two grandchildren; Faith Baldwin and Grace Baldwin; one brother Charles Smith Baldwin Jr., nieces and nephews; Katie Adams, Amy Adams, Melissa Koch, Michelle Howell, Rachel Irwin, Jon Dixon, Tim Dixon and Scott Argo, along with numerous other family members and a host of friends.
A visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday December 30, 2019 at Benjamin Funeral Chapel Nowata, Oklahoma.
A memorial service for William Floyd Baldwin will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 31, 2019, at the Delaware First Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Tanquary and Lester Orwig officiating.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Rogers County Jail Ministry.
