William Curtis

July 15, 1926 — August 18, 2008

Mr. William F. "Bill" Curtis, 82, a resident of Copan, passed away Monday morning at his home in Copan. William F. "Bill" Curtis was born in Mounds, Oklahoma, July 15, 1926, the son of Fred and Inez (Spencer) Curtis. He received his education in Bixby and Dewey schools. Bill Married Marjorie Jeanne Cooper on October 28, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a World War II Veteran and a Korean War Veteran, attaining the rank of Seargent E5. Bill and Jeanne resided in Bartlesville, Ok before moving to Copan, Ok. In 1969 they bought Slims Resort on Grand Lake and were there for fifteen years before returning to Copan. Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home, two sons Fred and DeAnn Curtis of Copan, Ed and Kate Curtis of Copan, five Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren and one sister Deloris Hays. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Richard Joe Curtis and sister Jackie Mason. Graveside services for Mr. Curtis will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Curtis Family Cemetery. Chaplin Roger Sheppard of the Cornerstone Hospice will preside over the services. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online memorials may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Honorary Casket Bearers include, Harley Gilbert, Mike Curtis, Brian Curtis, Leon Russel, Dewayne Mason and Benny Hays. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been established with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, 3470 SE Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.
