William Davis

William Monroe "Bill" Davis, 50, of Grove, Oklahoma died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at his home. Bill was born May 12, 1958 in Linden, Cass County, Texas to James William and Dorothy Imogene (Sawvell) Davis. He moved to Grove in 1959 when he was only 1-1/2 years old. He attended Grove schools and graduated from Grove High School. Bill holds a Bachelors of Science and a Bachelors of Accounting from Tulsa University. In 1991, Bill and Dr. Robert Searle formed a medical mission that provides eye surgeries to those in need call "Sight To The Blind". He was currently serving as the foundation's administrator. Bill was very caring. He cared about everybody and everything. He was known as someone who would help anyone who was destitute. Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee R. Sawvell and Edith Hazelbaker and his paternal grandparents, Robert Monroe Davis and Beulah Isabell Fry. Survivors include his parents, Jim and Imogene Davis of Grove; one brother, Michael Warren Davis and wife Kim of Grove; three nephews, Michael Lee Roy Davis and wife Brandy, Dustin Wayne Davis, Shawn Warren Davis all of Grove; three great-nephews, Landon Wayne Davis, Dalton Wyatt Davis, and Ty Lee Roy Davis all of Grove; and his special baby, "Tia Maria" his Shih Tzu. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Grove Christian Center at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2009. Pastors will be David Knox, Phil Lawrence, and Loyd Crawford. Pallbearers will be Michael Warren Davis, Michael Lee Roy Davis, Dustin Wayne Davis, Shawn Warren Davis, Cecil Ward, Devin Carter, Jason Alexander, and Phil Hale. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Searle, Jhon Allard, Charles Miller, John Callaway, and Rene Gallo. The family would like those who wish to remember Bill to send memorials to Sight To The Blind. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
