Wilma Buzzard

Wilma Jean (England) Buzzard, 87, passed away on January 9, 2023, at Grandwood Assisted Living Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Wilma was born on September 5, 1935, in Miami, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Melvin and Elores (Heman) England. She was a graduate of Afton High School, class of 1953. Wilma was united in marriage to the love of her life, Garnett A. Buzzard on December 21, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Wilma worked for the Ottawa County Treasurer’s office, and then retired in 1993 from her beloved position as the secretary for Wilson Elementary school in Miami, Oklahoma. She enjoyed line dancing, traveling and going on cruises with her husband. Gardening and spending time with her family also brought her joy.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her two daughters; Kristi Dietz-Divin and her husband Michael of Dallas, Texas, and Kari McFarland of Grove, Oklahoma. She was blessed with two grandchildren; Tyler Dietz and Blair Dietz Smith, and one great grandchild; Ariana Dietz.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services starting at 11:00, Friday, January 13, 2023. Both at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Grove, Oklahoma with Mr. Jordan Boyd officiating. Wilma will be laid to rest in the Fairland Cemetery.
