Winnie I. Johnson, age 83, passed away on December 29, 2021, at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Winnie was born on March 16, 1938, in Jay, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Scott and Sallie (Owens) Tanner. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Johnson on September 7, 1957, together they raised three boys. Winnie was a long time member of the Church of Christ, she really enjoyed visiting on behalf of the church. Winnie enjoyed trips with the Grand Travelers, collecting glass birds, spending time with her family, she was a huge Elvis fan. She liked going back and taking care of the home place in Piney, sitting by the creek and watching her great-grandchildren.
Winnie is survived by her three sons; David Johnson and wife Anita of Chickasha, Roy Leslie Johnson of Grove and John Scott Johnson and wife Shannon of Grove, Oklahoma, five grandchildren; Amanda McKee and friend Eric, Jeremiah Johnson, Leann Stowell and husband Sean, Preston Johnson, and Alyssa Guzman and husband Manny, bonus grandson Kenny McKee, bonus granddaughter Jessica Oakley and 6 great grandchildren, Elyce, Owen, Hadley, Finn, Jack & Irena. One sister Flodell Spottedbear, sister-in-law Colleen Tipton and husband Ruben, sister-in-law Sue Johnson and many nieces and nephews
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and ten brothers and sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 Sunday, Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. Services are scheduled for 2PM, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Grove Church of Christ. Winnie will be laid to rest in Piney Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.
